Free Press, Not Fair Press
Hypocrisy. Partisan. Double standard. One-way.
Synonyms to describe a politician? Not exactly. These words more appropriately describe the elite liberal media. It’s at this point where my fourteen year daughter would say, ‘DUH, Dad!”
I know, there are not too many people out there who would disagree with me about media bias. It’s pretty obvious to anyone with half an ear and is blind as a bat.
But here’s where it gets nasty. There’s a new kid in town and the liberal media (I will refer to them as Lib-Med from here on) do not like it. Her name is Sarah Palin and she’s a wildcat. She’s opinionated, vocal, bold, self-confident, and she’s an ex-beauty queen. So what’s not to like? She’s a conservative. Dare I say ultraconservative!
That’s right. Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska who was chosen by John McCain to be his running mate, is pro-life, pro-gun, pro-family, and pro-drilling. This leads to the fact that she is also anti-big government, anti-waste, anti-over taxation, and it might be worth mentioning that she has been quoted as saying that she doesn’t believe that global warming is man made.
No wonder she is a target of Lib-Med. Just who does she think she is? The nerve of this woman to come into the picture of the presidential race and bring in these archaic ideas! She is everything they are not and they really don’t like that.
Settle down, you say. They’re just reporting the news, right? They’re just telling it like it is, right? After all, inquiring minds want to know, right? Aaaah, now we’re getting more to the truth. What we are witnessing is a gross example of tabloid fever. But it’s not just coming from the likes of The National Enquirer; it’s coming from the main stream folks too. Not that Us Magazine is anywhere close to main stream, (by the way, seen any covers of Rolling Stone Magazine lately? Same owner; big Obama donor) but all the way down the line, they are all focusing on the pimple, nitpicking with flare, digging up bones.
For instance, CNN recently reported that someone in Alaska called Sarah Palin a bully. How many times has Hillary Clinton been called, not a bully, but an aggressive go-getter? As if politicians of any party won’t have detractors around every corner…
Good Morning America had a panel of women, obviously left, to discuss whether or not Sarah was a bad mom because her seventeen year old daughter was pregnant and not only GMA. They’re coming out of the woodwork on this. It seems that nearly everyone in the media is calling Governor Palin an unfit mom because she’s running on the Republican ticket with five kids at home and the youngest is a special needs child with Downs Syndrome.
This is amazing! Suddenly, a woman’s place is in the home! WOW, what an about face for the left! Oh, the irony. But wait, there’s more! Did you know that Nancy Pelosi has kids? Did you know that she has five kids? Yes, that’s right. But I don’t remember hearing anyone making a fuss about this, not even anyone on the right. Maybe it’s because the job of Speaker of the House is a more relaxed position than that of Vice President. No, I don’t think so. I think it’s because Palin is a conservative Republican and Pelosi is a Liberal Democrat. That’s the only thing I can think of.
And please don’t say, “But gee, didn’t she teach her pregnant seventeen year old daughter about safe sex?” I’m sure she did but you know what? No matter what we do or what we say or how we set the example, our kids aren’t going to be perfect and sometimes, they’re going to completely miss the mark, just like her daughter Bristol did. And this wouldn’t even be an issue if it had been Chelsea. It would have been celebrated, no doubt. I’m just grateful they didn’t take the easy road and secretly abort this baby. They didn’t look at this child as a “punishment”. I’m glad Bristol confided in her parents and didn’t cross state lines to escape parental permission (don’t e-mail me; I know Alaska doesn’t have parental notification laws for seventeen year olds. I’m making a point). They are standing tough and showing great courage in the face of adversity and I’m proud of all of them.
So, can you see my frustration? There is such an extreme tip of the scale that it is embarrassing. Not embarrassing for Sarah and her family, it’s embarrassing for Lib-Med. Their news coverage is so blatantly lopsided, it wobbles. It’s almost hypnotic how they not only ignore but they literally go out of their way to hide stories on the left side of the scale. How many people really know about Senator Obama backing out of his promise to use public financing instead of donor bucks? Unless you turned to the little paragraph at the bottom right hand corner of page seven in your newspaper, you probably missed it. I read about it on Drudge and heard about it on conservative radio.
And so that’s how it goes with most things Obama. Retractions for idiotic statements are inserted next to the women’s underwear ad buried in section ‘C’ or, in most cases, it’s not printed at all. Joe Biden is Obama’s pick for VP but you won’t hear or read about his racist remarks at Lib-Med. They will only tell us the positive. Better go to YouTube and watch these remarks while you can. Who knows when MSNBC and GE might try to buy them out…
You know, to the best of my knowledge, I don’t remember Sarah ever claiming to be the perfect mom. If she had, we’d all have real problems with her. I guess that’s why I love the word of God so much. The most popular people in the bible are exposed warts and all, in all their glory. God doesn’t sugar coat any of them with false piety. Let’s take a look at some of them:
Adam ate the apple. Moses was a murderer. Jonah was egotistical. David was an adulterer and a murder. Thomas was a doubter and so was John the Baptist. Paul arrested Christians and had them killed. I know I left out a few, but do you see where I’m going? If we were perfect, we’d have no need for grace or a savior or God.
Sarah said it best at the convention. She basically said that she doesn’t need the grace of Lib-Med. They are not the ones she wants to work for. She wants to work for you and me. That’s why this is all going to backfire on Lib-Med.
Have you ever heard a car backfire? That’s what happens when there’s too much fuel in the mixture. An explosion happens in the machine and that’s what is about to happen to Lib-Med. With all the fuel they’re pouring out, it’s best to just stand back and watch the fireworks.
I believe the American people are smarter than what they give us credit for. There are more Conservatives than Liberals and quite frankly, we don’t have to put up with their half truths and wobbly political slants on the candidates. We the people refuse to let Lib-Med choose our president and vice president for us. Yeah, I see a rather exposed Lib-Med doing the stop-drop-and-roll in the not so distant future.
So I say this: Write on, Lib-Med! Write your little hearts out because you’re writing your own history with every dot of the I and every cross of the T. You can’t be trusted to report the truth so it is just a matter of time that you will not be trusted with the truth. You’re marking yourselves as you truly are: One-way, partisan, double standard hypocrites.
