Robin Hood On Crack

30 October 2008 69 views No Comment

It seems that the only thing on Barack Obama’s mind is the economy. He talks about it as if the President controls the United States’ checkbook. Guess what. He doesn’t. That’s why there’s a House and Senate.

The president is not a king. He has power but not that kind of power. Who has that power? The House and the Senate have the power. And since the Demorats control the majority, you can figure out rather easily that our economic situation can be tracked back to the mishandling of the checkbook that is in the hands of said Democrats: Pelosi, Reed, Frank, Dodd.

Then why does Obama keep pushing the economy? Because that is what’s on the minds of the American people and sadly enough, the American people are ignorantof the fact that with a Democratically controled Senate and a Democratic president, anything goes when it comes to tax and spend. With the power to veto or not to veto, the Democrats can push all of their social agendas to President Obama (sounds scary just to hear it) and be assured that it will go trough without a hitch.

But there’s another reason why Obama is sticking with the economy. Since the economy is number one on the American people’s minds, it also works as a great smokescreen to draw attention away from some of the other very real and important issues, issues that would expose him as a hypocrite.

What are some of those issues? I’m glad you asked. Let’s talk about some of them

Abortion

Being the third most loberal active senator, you can expect Obama to lean far left on the issue of abortion.  Obama said this at a speech given to Planned Parenthood, the organization that killed around 400,000 babies in the womb last year, “Well, the first thing I’d do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act.  That’s the first thing I’d do”

Obama claims to be pro-life but with a voting record like his, it’s easy to see that he is pro-death.  When a person in his position has the power to rescue an unborn child with the stroke of a pen and doesn’t, but rather uses that stroke to cast a vote to let that baby die, it is an indication of a black heart.

The U.S. Constitution

Barack Obama believes that the constitution is flawed and needs to be revamped.  However, the constitution works because it is fair. It doesn’t show favoritism to any individual but favors all.  It has built-in safeguards to protect all of mankind against all of mankind.  The constitution is the reason why the United States has survived for as long as we have as a nation.

Barack Obama wants to throw it out and start all over.  He wants to use it to redistribute wealth that one person who has worked hard their whole lives and give it another who sits in their government subsidized housing, watching thier government purchased big-screen TV.

In a radio interview in 2003, Obama said, “[T]he Warren court… didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as it’s been interpreted, and the Warren court interpreted it in the same way that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. It says what the states can’t do to you, it says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalfMaybe I’m showing my bias here as a legislator as well as a law professor, but I’m not optimistic about bringing about major redistributive change through the courts. The institution just isn’t structured that way.

The founders of our country knew what it was like to have government doing things on your behalf.  That’s why they broke free of the tyranny of England to start over by giving people the power to govern themselves, not have the government controling their lives.

We have to realize that the government can only give to one person what it has taken from another person.  That’s Robin Hood on crack.

The Supreme Court

Barack Obama wants to change the constitution for another reason as well: to give judges more power to not only interperet the law in a way that is unconstitutional but to actually make the law.  Rather than judge from an existing set of rules set forth by our founders that have been designed to work in every stage of history that we’ve encountered so far and any future that we’ve yet to encounter, he wants to put power in the hands of individuals that only kings and tyrants enjoy.

He said this about the Supreme Court. “[T]he courts are the refuge of the powerless… And we need somebody who’s got the heart—the empathy—to recognize what it’s like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it’s like to be poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old—and that’s the criteria by which I’ll be selecting my judges.”

Sympathy is well and good at funerals and bankruptcies but when it comes to law, justice needs to prevail every time. Justice looks out for the poor and African-American and gay and disabled but it also looks out for the rich, Hispanic, the Asian, the Yugoslavian, the straight, and the healthy. By the way, is Obama saying that being African-American is equivalent to being poor or gay or disabled ?

Taxes

Tax cuts for everyone who earn less than $250,000 per year. Tax cuts for everyone who earn less than $200,000 per year. Tax cuts for everyone who earn less than $150,000 per year. Do I hear $100,000, do I hear $50,000, do I hear $42,000?  Sold.

Gay marriage is an issue. He says he is for marriage being between one man and one woman yet wants to repeal the DOMA act, put in place by President Bill Clinton.

Gun rights is another one. He says he is for gun ownership yet…

Obama is proposing to make it a felony for a gun owner whose firearm was stolen from his residence which causes harm to another person if that weapon was not securely stored in that home. Chicago Defender, Dec. 13, 1999

I could go on but I won’t. Election day is coming. Barack Obama leads in the polls.  I don’t believe that this country will elect this man but the idea that we are this close is frightening.  Go vote.
