Take it easy on anonomous. I think he just likes a little controversy now and again, stir the pot so to speak... As for wether or not the church fall under God's OT curses, I choose to believe that the blessings are for me and the curses are for them. Not really...
One thing we know of God is that He is the same today, yesterday, and forever. He never changes. Another thing we know is that His word is prophetic in nature. God can tell us what's going to happen because He can see what's going to happen. This doesn't cheapen prophecy at all. It simply confirms the omniscience of God.
I believe that it's the same thing with many of His blessings and cursings as well.
See Gen 49:1 "And Jacob called his sons and said, Gather yourselves and I will tell you what will happen to you in the days to come."
I don't think God was neccessarily bringing curses on some of these sons and blessings on the others. He was merely expressing what their future outcomes would be.
So in my humble opinion, many of the blessings and cursings that happen are brought on because of how we treat the gospel. Of course, if you call good evil, you're calling a "woe" upon yourself. Sin against God, shame replaces God's favor. Ask Adam, Moses, David, Solomon, etc.
People try to delineate scripture to an error, I think. But I can say with full assurance, that 2 Chronicles 7:14 pertains to me as much as it does to OT Israel. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Hey Anonymous, not only are you a coward, but you’re dyslexic as well. It is sad to see people try to misuse scripture. Using Hosea 9:16 to claim that abortion is condoned by the Almighty is as bad as using Jeremiah 19:9 to say He condones cannibalism: “And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and everyone shall eat the flesh of his friend…”

Jeff, what do you think about the curses given to the Northern and Southern kingdoms? Do you think we may fall under their curses; since, as a nation, we do the same crimes as they? I’m thinking about passages like Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;” and since Anonymous seems to be fond of Hosea, how about Hosea 4:7 “The more they increased, The more they sinned against Me; I will change their glory into shame.”?

The Almighty is definitely in control of everything and those who are His can find rest in that knowledge. I hope and pray that the pretribulationists are right. In the meantime, we should do as the prophets and preach of the oncoming destruction and maybe, our nation’s inhabitants will repent and believe and be saved.

It’s actually Hosea 9:16. I will leave it up to God as to which tribes He decides to prosper and which ones He decides to bring under judgement. I say tribes because this is not only Israel, but specifically Ephraim that He is speaking to.
Does He limit this judgement particularly to a tribe of Israel? I don’t know, many believe Jeramiah 29:11 is spoken only the nation of Israel. All I know is that there are not too many Jews claiming to be Ephraimites in Isreal today, which would mean this prophecy has been fulfilled.
Besides that, if God decides to take a child to Himself that’s His decision. It’s a whole other issue when a man or woman convinces a 14 year old frightened girl to enter their death chamber so she won’t have to be "punished" with a baby.

Here is an interesting passage from Hosea 6:16. Speaking of judgment on backslidden and idolatrous Israel, God through Hosea says: "Yes, were they to bear children, I would kill the beloved fruit of their womb."

So is this condoning the abortion of children carried by "evil" mothers? Could God be using abortionists to carry out judgment? Are the unborn who are killed and going straight to heaven being saved from likely idolatry and almost sure eternal damnation? BTW, I think abortion as birth control is evil.

If abortion was at the top of the brides agenda, the honeymoon would be over. Americans made it pretty clear that the economy takes front seat in this relationship. Now, it he keeps appointing tax dodgers to his crew, the bride just might file for at least a legal seperation...

The bulk of their funds are either funds stolen from the taxpayer via political means or extorted from employees using strong armed tactics or lies. Good Job on keeping this on top of the heap. Sounds like the general public isn't real excited with our new POTUS over his actions in regards to abortion either.
