Doctor asks her, “Have you had an abortion?”

Since the “link” is disputed, it’s not indisputable. That doesn’t make abortion any less heinous, but at least the opponents should strive to remain honest and forthcoming. A link or reference to the research would be useful. I guess I could listen to the podcasts, but do they even provide references? If they do, could you go back and locate it for your readers. I would love to be able to show my abortion-supporting acquaintances some evidence that shows the multifaceted evils of abortion.
One more thing, it’s been my observation that Christians throw around words “proofs” and “facts” as liberally as the heathens. The problem is that we are supposed to have higher standards of honesty. As a matter of fact, absolute honest.

Abortion is an unnatural act. Anything you do that is unnatural to the body is harmful to the body. That is indisputable but I expect that you will dispute that too.

Perhaps the ministers didn’t say it as “absolutely” as you did, if that’s the case, the comment is not directed to them at all.
Causality in medical cases is near impossible to demonstrate in a way that abides with ethical standards of human research. Even in experiments where every variable that can be, is controlled, you still don’t end up with causality (or indisputability), because with humans, it is impossible to control every variable.
With research conducted “after the fact,” the problems are multiplied. That’s why you often get two studies with different results. For example, in the study you linked, the women who had abortions may have lower moral standards and live more reckless lives. It is very possible that those contribute to cancer, in addition to, or even in spite of the abortion itself.
My comment has nothing to do with abortion-for-convenience being evil. It is exceedingly evil. The comment addresses the common practice of people crying, “aha, it’s been proven that such and such…” People of all walks of life say it, but Christians are called to a higher standard of honesty and charity.
The link itself was very helpful. It would stand on its own with minimal commentary. By taking a defensive posture, research which may be used to back up your cause now becomes fuel to fan the flame of disagreement. If you want to try to stop potential abortions, the tone may benefit from more charity and honesty. I suspect that my comments may benefit from the same.
Abortion is not evil because it may cause cancer; it’s evil because it places man on the throne, where God alone should reign.

I agree that at times Christians, wanting to take the high road, end up on the same road the world travels. But this is something I will almost always do: Give the benefit of the doubt to the one who seeks to do good, and that is usually the Christian. By seeking to do away with evil, the last thing on a Christians heart, most of the time, is to subvert or mask the truth. I know that in my zeal to get out the truth, I can easily pick up the glasses that reveal the truth the way I want to see the truth. Thanks for your input. Comment anytime.
